Rockwall is the smallest county that covers only 147 square miles, but is also the fasted growing county in Texas. The city got the name from the rock wall the settlers discovered deep underground while digging wells. The city of Rockwall sits just off Lake Ray Hubbard, an impressively large 22,000 acre man-made fresh water reservoir. This small suburban city has a lot to offer and is nestled just outside of Dallas, making it a wonderful place to call home. Interstate 30 is the main route between Dallas and Rockwall which cuts right over Lake Ray Hubbard with amazing views. Though Rockwall is small, there is plenty to do locally. You have a lake right around the corner that’s great for fishing, skiing, relaxing, and recreational boating. There are also plenty of parks located around the lake with beaches, hiking and biking trails, and other outdoor activities. This city has a wonderful mix of housing options from town homes & condos to historic homes, new builds and golf communities. Rockwall also has plenty of big name retail stores and restaurants to keep you local but you’ll have the convenience of a short drive into Dallas for those times you just feel like you want to venture into the big city.
